When I arrived back in the store to get my MacBook Pro it was sitting on the counter still on. When I turned it to face me the one program that was open was the list of downloads I'd done. They were halfway through the list.
Scans your Mac for all types of junk Various cache files created by browsers and apps, unneeded log files, broken downloads, old iOS updates, diagnostic reports and other types of trash start to build up over time and take up valuable space.
They charged me $75 to tell me what I had already told them was wrong with the machine. Then as I was reluctantly paying them another customer was being told her phone was going to need restoring and she would lose all her data. She left quite upset. I commented that it must be the hardest past of the job to tell people that. The girl taking my money replied 'not really, if they are a good customer it's their own fault for not syncing their phone and if they are a bad customer it's easy' and with that she smiled. I wish I'd read the reviews before I went into the store!!
My laptop broke last Wednesday, and I took it to next byte to have a look at it. They charged me $75 to do so, and promised me they'd call me that afternoon. By Thursday night, I still hadn't heard anything so I drove back to the store. The staff were incredibly rude to me, insinuating that I was wasting their time because they'd told me they'd ring me, and it hadn't been looked out. It's now Sunday and I have since been back again, only to find out that still haven't looked at it. My computer is vital for my work, and I have told them that, but they continue to mess around with me.
Next time, I'm driving the extra 20 minutes to the apple store. I'm still considering getting my computer off them and doing so when they finally tell me what's wrong.
Don't even bother going there. I went to a next byte store.
I walked in and not one member of staff asked if i needed help. Then when i went to wait in line at the counter, the women behind the counter gave me a dirty look, and then served the lady who was waiting behind me. Then when she had finished serving the customer i went and said 'hi, i would like to buy this' and she completely ignored me and acted as if she was 'to good' to service me.
I was also appalled that i then had to walk around the shop to find a staff member who wasn't busy to come and serve me. When i did find a member of staff, she acted as if it were a 'big deal' to serve me. The only reason i didn't walk out was because no where else had what i needed in stock. I wouldn't shop here unless i absolutely have to. In conclusion: The staff were extremely rude, Bad service, and of one member of staff offered to help. Purchased a few products from Next Byte Hobart but as soon as they sold me a faulty machine and i had to return it they turned very nasty and accusing.
Exe emulator for mac. Have never put a complaint in anywhere before but for the first time i did. The manager was more than rude and incompetent and staff members accusing me or somehow 'breaking' the macbook.
Even when the technician Finally looked at it and found it was a computer fault i was never offered an apology. I advise anyone looking at purchasing a Mac product to avoid Next Byte like the plague! So I took my MacBook to get fixed at Next Byte at Bundall as Apple said they would cover the cost of repairs. Gave it to them on Monday, got a call from them on a Friday saying it was water damaged, it had a dint, someone has been in there and Apple will unlikely cover the cost due to those reasons. I thought it was odd when he said water damage. That is just not possible, I told him and I am not sure why he mentioned the dint. Probably trying to use as must leverage against it to look for reasons not to fix it.
Tablet for mac cad. He also said a cable inside was unplugged. Think they call it the LDVS (which I had to lookup) or something. I said yeah.Apple wanted me to take a photo (which I gave) of where it short circuited so their engineers could remotely assess what went wrong.
Engineers said that dust probably got into the mag safe connector (which as I side note I thought was weird, since they didn't even look at the device). Anyway Apple dismissed my case out because of the report that Next Byte gave. I asked the senior adviser who I was dealing with at Apple for the photos they sent as I wanted another service providers second opinion which I got. I have got my MacBook back a few days ago from Next Byte and I am disappointed that the 'water damage' as Next Byte refers to was on the bottom plate and it was more like a water mark.
No indication that the logic board was touched by water. He also admitted that they did not open it up to check to see for logic board water damage or tripped LSIs. Someone has placed a glass / bottle on my bottom plate and the condensation has left a mark as such it is faint but on closer inspection is obvious. After cross referencing further, the pictures Next Byte sent apple were not of my MacBook Pro. I don't even think they were of the same model either. The black plastic is a different shape on the back panel and there is no denying the screw up as the serial number is still very visable on the back panel. Lets just say I am really annoyed.
