Use Outlook Mac 2011 For Gmail

Posted on  by  admin

By Geetesh Bajaj, James Gordon. When you upgrade to Outlook 2011 for Mac by using IMAP with Gmail or Yahoo! Mail, your mail is synchronized between Outlook and the Web. For example, when you delete an e-mail in Outlook 2011, it’s deleted simultaneously on the Web, and vice-versa.

I am using Mac OS X 10.7.5 and Mac Office 2011 Outlook. I am trying to connect two gmail-based accounts via imap. One account has a gmail domain address.

I was just looking at possibly some form of parallel processing hack as the time lost is on the actual rsa.Decrypt() call. How much next byte charge for mac repair.

The other is a google apps mail account (i.e. Doesn't have a gmail.com address but is powered by gmail). The gmail account can send/receive with no issues. The google apps gmail account can receive but cannot send email from Mac Outlook. I get the following error: 5.5.1 x19sm5358056qeq.12 Cannot send mail.

App The SMTP server does not recognize any of the authentication methods supported by Outlook. Try changing the SMTP authentication options in Account settings or contact your network administrator. I've checked the settings of both accounts - they are identical in terms of the outgoing mail server (smtp.gmail.com) with the SSL and to port 465. I've also tried sending email from the google apps mail account via the browser and it works. I've tried this multiple times and it fails consistently.

I've been given the task of setting up a new MacBook Pro for a customer at work, and he insists on using Outlook 2011 for his email, calendar, and contacts, as opposed to Mail, iCal, and Address Book. That wouldn't be a problem, except for that he uses MobileMe for these things and I have no clue to how set it up the way that he wants it.

From what I read, some of the MobileMe services (Calendar, specifically) might not work with the latest Outlook. If that's the case, what other options do I have for syncing his Outlook calendar with his iPhone? He does not want to use anything but Outlook and I haven't been able to convince him how much easier it would be if he didn't. Can anyone help me with this? Let me know what other information you need. I gave up on Outlook and stuck with Apple mail.
